High-Risk Individuals

  • Personal or family history of skin cancer, atypical moles. Melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer (e.g., basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma).
  • Presence of atypical or dysplastic nevi (irregular moles).
  • Development of new moles or lesions. Biopsy performed in the last 12 months for suspicious skin lesions.

Sun-Exposed Individuals

  • Three or more sunburns in a lifetime or tanning bed usage.
  • Frequent sun exposure, whether through outdoor work (construction, landscaping, lifeguard. etc.), hobbies (hiking, sailing, etc.), or lifestyle choices (frequent sunbathing, running, biking, swimming).

Individuals with excessive Moles, Who Live Alone, Physical Characteristics

  • Having 50 or more moles or individuals who live alone and find it difficult to self-monitor hard-to-reach areas (back, scalp, etc.).
  • Fair Skin or a tendency to freckle and burn rather than tan.
  • Immunosuppressed individuals, such as those with a history of organ transplant.
